American Association for Cancer Research (AACR)

Join the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Runners for Research team! Make This Run Matter! The AACR is the first and largest cancer research organization in the world and has been behind every cancer breakthrough for more than 110 years. Without research, there are no treatments or cures for patients, and with more than 37,000 members worldwide, the AACR brings together the greatest minds in cancer science to defeat ALL types of cancer. By joining the AACR Runners for Research team, you can be a part of the largest cancer research run in the U.S., help raise critical funds to further cancer research, and receive great benefits, including race registration reimbursement up to $105. Every step you take through Philadelphia is a step towards a cure. Of every dollar donated, 88 cents goes to support lifesaving cancer research.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation evolved from the lemonade stand of 4 year old cancer patient Alexandra Scott. Since that first stand, the Foundation has carried on her legacy of hope, raising more than $100 million to help fund childhood cancer research projects.

The Alzheimer’s Association is the world leader in Alzheimer’s research and support. The Delaware Valley Chapter serves 18 counties in Delaware, South Jersey and Southeastern Pennsylvania. The Chapter, headquartered in Philadelphia, PA, provides programs and services to more than 294,000 individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s or a related disorder.

Association for Frontotemporal  Degeneration (AFTD)

AFTD is a national nonprofit working to improve the quality of life of people affected by Frontotemporal Degeneration (FTD) and drive research for a cure. Covenant House Pennsylvania

Covenant House Pennsylvania is a non-profit organization that serves homeless, runaway and trafficked youth ages 18-21. We find youth on the street through our outreach program, which operates in every zip code in Philadelphia. We offer stability and sanctuary in our 76 bed residential center with full continuum of supportive services including health, behavioral health, education, and vocation.

Emily's Entourage

Emily's Entourage is a 501©3 that raises funds to accelerate new treatments and a cure for a rare nonsense mutations of Cystic Fibrosis.  It's about joining together and leveraging the power of a community to help find a cure.  

Emily Whitehead Foundation

The Emily Whitehead Foundation raises funds for and awareness of innovative treatments for pediatric cancer. The foundation was founded in honor of Emily, who at the age of six, became the first child in the world to have her immune system trained to fight cancer at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Epilepsy Foundation  

Epilepsy Foundation leads the fight to overcome the challenges of living with epilepsy and to accelerate therapies to stop seizures, find cures and save lives.

Family Lives On

Family Lives On is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization serving parentally bereaved children in the US.  Family Lives On supports the lifelong emotional wellbeing of children whose mother or father has died by helping to continue traditions once enjoyed with the parent who died. The organization serves all children ages 3-18, regardless of race, gender, religion, socioeconomic status or cause of parent's death.  

Girls on the Run Philadelphia

Girls on the Run is a transformational physical activity based youth development program for girls 3rd-8th grade. We teach life skills through dynamic interactive lessons and running games. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.

Girl Up (United Nations Foundation)

Girl Up, the UN Foundation’s adolescent girl campaign, supports the empowerment of girls everywhere. The campaign has funded UN programs that promote the health, safety, education, and leadership of girls in developing countries and built a community of nearly half a million passionate advocates.


Team JDRF to Cure Diabetes is a unique and exciting way to fight diabetes. Participants choose their race distance (8k, half, or full marathon) and run to raise money for JDRF. Runners from around the country take on two challenges: raising the money needed to fund research for better treatments and a cure for type 1 diabetes, and reaching a personal training goal to prepare for a race experience. Leukemia and Lymphoma Society  - Team in Training

 The Magee Rehabilitation Hospital Wheelchair Sports Program sponsors wheelchair athletes in basketball, rugby, tennis, and racing. Magee’s Wheelchair Sports Program helps people with disabilities reach personal health and wellness goals, heighten independence, and improve quality of life.

Move for Hunger

Move For Hunger is a non-profit organization that mobilizes the relocation industry to fight hunger and reduce food waste. In addition to collecting food from people who are moving to new homes, Move For Hunger helps companies and individuals across the United States and Canada organize successful food drives. To date, they have collected more than 8 million pounds of food.

National Kidney Foundation

The National Kidney Foundation is the leading organization dedicated to the awareness, prevention, and treatment of kidney disease. We educate patients and healthcare professionals, support research, and give support to patients and their families.

National Multiple Sclerosis Society

The MS Society mobilizes people and resources to drive research for a cure and to address the challenges of everyone affected by MS. In 2014, the MS Society invested over $50 million toward more than 380 research projects around the world. Locally, more than 15,000 people live with MS.

Special Olympics PA

Special Olympics Pennsylvania’s Philadelphia program provides year- round sports and athletic competition for Philadelphians with intellectual disabilities. Through work in health, education, community building and sports, Special Olympics is addressing inactivity, injustice, intolerance and social isolation by encouraging and empowering people with intellectual disabilities.

Students Run Philly Style

Students Run Philly style transforms students lives through running and mentorship. We pair volunteer Running Leaders with teams of students to push themselves farther than they ever imagined. Their goal: the completion of a full or half marathon.
